This particular tree caught my attention while hiking through the mixture of burnt and growing trees (burnt from the Angeles National Forest fires during the Summer 2009). This tree had died, possibly due to the devastating fires. After almost a year, the tree is starting to grow back. You can see that the trunk has regained its bark, while some branches are still dead. The large branch on the bottom right of the tree is especially appealing since a new branch has pushed the dying branch out from the trunk. The sights were inspirational.

Lombard St and Leavenworth St, San Francisco, CA - 2010.06.24
Canon Rebel T1i: Manual 1/500, f/10.0, ISO 200, 55 mm
The famous “Crooked Street” in San Francisco, Lombard Street. This street is the crookedest street in the United States. I had a little standoff with the car in order to get this shot

This is a scene of San Francisco looking out towards the Bay Bridge. Interesting note: The lights seen on the street (located in the lower right hand corner of the picture) were actually of an ambulance that was racing down the street.
